Take off on a sensational adventure on a quad bike tour in Marrakech, which will take you to the heart of the desert
It’s important to note that your quad tour won’t take place directly in the heart of Marrakech, but rather on the outskirts of the city, where the desert provides an ideal backdrop. Contrary to what you might think, desert landscapes are varied and not all alike.
The desert around Marrakech has a rocky landscape. Unlike the large sand dunes, this makes quad biking much more accessible, requiring neither previous experience nor excellent physical condition.
The two main excursion sites offer different views, and the experience varies according to your choice:
The Palmeraie is one of the city’s main districts. Transfers from the city are included in the ticket, and the resort is a 20-minute drive from the city center. The terrain here is relatively flat, offering magnificent scenery as far as the eye can see. The area is renowned for its palm cultivation, which dates back over a thousand years. Today, it’s a popular tourist destination, not least because of its superb seaside resorts. In addition to quad biking, many other activities are on offer, including camel safaris. Buggy excursions are also available.
The Agafay desert, just south of the city and about a 45-minute drive south of Marrakech, is ideal for indulging in the joys of quad biking in Marrakech. The sensations are more intense and the scenery even more magnificent, is the other site for quad excursions. The terrain is more undulating and offers superb views of the Atlas Mountains. The Agafay desert lies between Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains. During your excursion, you’ll be able to contemplate the mountains looming on the horizon, giving the landscape an added majesty. You’ll also discover Lake Lalla Takerkoust, a 7 km-long artificial lake created by the construction of a dam at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. The desert is also home to Berber villages and encampments of remarkable authenticity.

It is possible to drive without a driver’s license, but you must be at least 16 years old.
A parental authorization is required for 16- and 17-year-olds.
Quad activities in Marrakech generally last half a day or less,
Quad excursions in the desert are possible all year round.
Equipment such as helmets, hoods and goggles are provided.
You don’t need to wear any special clothing, but it’s possible that it could be damaged, so it’s best to wear lightly used clothes.
Good footwear and protection against sunburn are recommended.
